The town of Leesburg, Virginia, celebrates the holiday season with a variety of special events, including a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, a holiday craft show, and a holiday parade, festival, and concert. Leesburg is also a great place to enjoy shopping, dining, and seasonal cheer. Here’s the schedule of some upcoming holiday events.

Village at Leesburg Christmas Tree Lighting

Santa arrives by horse-drawn carriage to visit with the children and to kick off the big holiday season. Don’t miss the Grand Finale at 5 p.m. when Santa lights the spectacular musical tree. It's a 54-foot-tall tree with more than 15,000 sparkling lights and amazing music and light shows daily. The festivities include carriage rides, musical performances, caroling, holiday characters, fire pits, hot chocolate, roasting chestnuts, and more holiday fun. Attendees are encouraged to bring a toy to be donated to Toys for Tots.

Oatlands Historic House and Gardens

Visit the historic estate as it comes alive with afternoon teas, holiday house tours, shopping, wreath making, a candlelight hayride, and photos with Santa. Each room in the 1804 Oatlands mansion will sparkle with unique decorations, some featuring materials from the gardens on the property.

The holiday décor will also feature beautifully decorated Christmas trees throughout the home. 

Leesburg Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting

The Leesburg community kicks off the holiday season with the town Christmas tree lighting, featuring performances from local elementary and high schools and words from the mayor, council, and guest speakers.

Join in a holiday sing-a-long and stay in town for the evening for Leesburg’s First Friday event when local businesses and merchants will stay open late to host some holiday cheer.

Holiday Fine Arts and Craft Show

This arts and crafts show features more than 90 local and regional artisans selling handmade items. You'll find gifts such as candles, jewelry, linens, and stained glass. 

Leesburg Christmas and Holiday Parade and Festival

December 9 at 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Catch the Christmas spirit and bring the whole family to see Santa and his friends parade down King Street and through the heart of historic Leesburg. Get there early to claim your viewing spot along the parade route, which begins at Ida Lee Drive and ends at Fairfax Street.

Jingle Jam

The town's holiday rock concert features musicians playing traditional Christmas tunes. Get your tickets starting November 13 at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center. Proceeds go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
