Cirque du Soleil is now synonymous with Las Vegas and depending on your mood you can see any variety of show. Recall to back when you were a kid and you looked forward to seeing a circus. You expected a few things. The three rings, the clowns, the lions. Well, Zarakana by Cirque Du Soleil does just that for you. It gives you exactly what you expected. There is no magician trying to make it their show and there is no legendary musical group behind this production.
With Zarkana you get precisely what you came for and that is what Cirque Du Soleil is all about.
The set, the music, the performers will have you leaving the theater baffled by what has just transpired. You'll remember half of what you saw because so much is happening. If you are a Cirque du Soleil veteran you might feel like you needed more. That is simply because you are spoiled by all the great acts you have seen that you are seeking out a stronger story line. While discussing the show with a few first timers they saw the magic that is Cirque du Soleil in Zarkana because it delivers with all the strong components that make these shows so popular in Las Vegas.
Zarkana in Las Vegas by Cirque Du Soleil
What can you expect from Zarkana Las Vegas:
Upon walking into the theater at Aria you’ll be impressed with the size and the feel of the space.
It feels like a real theater. It feels as if some great performances have taken place in this grand room. It is relatively new but they’ve done a good job of transporting you away from Las Vegas an d into a real venue for quality entertainment.
When the curtain comes up on Zarkana your eyes dart around and you capture so many images in such a little time.
As the show progresses you’ll look up, down and off to the side with something happening everywhere all at once.
I’ll give you a few hints of my favorite performers but I won’t ruin it for you. The highlights for me include a woman who can handle balls better than I have ever seen. A lot of sand that paints a picture for the audience and the trademark people flying through the air making you grasp for the arm rest. That is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the talent that you’ll see on the ever evolving stage for Zarkana in Las Vegas.
I should point out that I really did enjoy the show but I could do without the Cirque Du Soleil gibberish that seems to pop up in every show. It’s cute in Mystere when an over grown baby in diapers is yapping all through the show but in Zarkana when Zark, the ringmaster, seems to be explaining the past, present and future of the show it becomes irritating.
