Zahra Pettican

Zahra is a U.K.-based lifestyle and travel writer. She caught the travel bug (and a few less friendly ones) when she backpacked in three continents for a year in 2003. She’s written for Lonely Planet, Bon Appetit, Reader’s Digest, Fodor’s, and Matador Network.

Zahra has lived abroad and traveled to numerous countries around the world, particularly in Europe and Southeast Asia. Between travels, she’s worked in communications and marketing. In 2007, she went to Turkey to teach English and ended up staying for seven years.

Her writing has been published in Lonely Planet, Reader’s Digest, Bon Appetit, and Fodor’s. She’s also a copywriter and has written content for hundreds of brands and websites.

Since returning to the UK, Zahra has been rediscovering the sights, culture, and history of London and her home region, East Anglia.

Zahra has a B.A. with Honors in International Studies from the University of Leeds. She also has a Trinity TESOL certificate in teaching English as a foreign language.
