From late June through early August, Wolf Trap National Park presents its Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods, a series of family-friendly shows including kindie rock, Latin, Afro-Caribbean, country, folk, jazz, bluegrass, and pop-rock, as well as Irish dance, ballet, puppetry, and musical theatre. The shows are performed in an outdoor setting amidst 117 rolling wooded acres and nestled in a shady grove.
Theatre-in-the-Woods will feature one performance per day, Tuesdays – Saturdays at 10:30 am. Most performances are recommended for children ages 4 and up. Patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the show.
Ticket prices range from $8 to $12 and children under two are free. Tickets are available online. Advanced purchase is recommended as performances do sell out. If available, tickets may be purchased the day of the performance at the footbridge with exact change, check, or credit card.
