Where to have a Winter Birthday Party in Kansas City:
Kansas City is just plain cold in the winter months, right now it is a frosty 12 degrees.
A reader, new to the KC Metro, sent me an e-mail and asked me what my thoughts were regarding a cold weather birthday for her son. While horseback riding and a trip to the KC Zoo could most likely be ruled out, there are many places around KC to have a successful birthday party when it's cold out-and these might be fun winter activities for kids who are tiring of being inside and need a cure for cold weather boredom!

SeaLife's Official Site
Speaking of Crown Center, LegoLand's next door neighbor, SeaLife has over 260,000 gallons of water and 5,000 fish and sea creatures on display. You may expect to be completely immersed in the world under the sea as soon as you enter. SeaLife encourages interaction with their exhibits-and you can expect many things to be interactive and hands on.
Parties start at $25 dollars per child (10 minimum) and they offer a standard and premium package ($35) See our SeaLife Guide here: SeaLife Call 816.471.4FUN to book your party or visit, SeaLife's Official Site
Also at Crown Center is the famed Kaleidoscope, the brain child of Hallmark Cards Don Hall, who dreamt of a place where kids could 'explore, create, imagine and do'. The magical atmosphere allows you and your children to create art from left over Hallmark materials and is 100% hands-on.
While Kaleidoscope doesn't have an actual 'party-room', you may make a reservation for parties of 15 or more (and disclaimer, do this as SOON AS POSSIBLE). Kaleidoscope is free--so a trip to Crown Center's own Fritz's, Crayola Café or even cake and ice cream at home could finish up a special day.
