The park's owner, Cedar Fair, announced that it would close the park permanently at the end of the 2016 season.
Attractions at the huge 17-acre Widwater Kingdom Water Park at Geauga Lake include Splash Landing, an interactive water play area with dump bucket, the Riptide Run lazy river, the 100-foot-tall Thunder Falls water slide tower, and the Coral Cove activity area. Rounding off its watery wonders are Tidal Wave Bay, Geauga Lake's 30,000-square-foot wave pool, and Liquid Lightning, a twirling ride that's fun-nel (get it?!) for the whole family.
