Enjoy beautiful, historic Iroquois Park while taking in a nighttime show. All screenings take place outside in the spacious and airy Iroquois Amphitheater. Some of the films are perfect for families, others carry adult themes and will be a better fit for an older crowd. Thankfully, some of the shows take place on Saturdays, making the movies ideal for a low-cost date night.

RiverStage: Twilight Cinema
Riverstage is along the Ohio River in Jeffersonville, IN, just across the river from Louisville. With a terraced lawn, the venue is ideal for concerts, gatherings and outdoor film screenings. Each movie night starts with fun, inflatables, games, and prizes for the kids at 7:30 p.m., the movies begin at dark. There are often free concerts here too, so stop by and enjoy the view of the mighty Ohio.

University of Louisville: Cards Under the Stars
Centrally located in Old Louisville, Cards Under the Stars is U of L family fun. At 6:30 p.m., this event begins with inflatable rides and activities for children. Local musicians and singers perform and food is available for purchase. At dusk, the outdoor screening begins. Bring chairs and a blanket.

Corydon Cinemas: Free Family Film Festival
Can't take the heat? No problem, there is a theater in Corydon screening summer films for free. Cool off inside while enjoying a family film. The showings are free for everyone, kids and adults alike, which is quite unusual. Corydon, IN is about a half hour drive from Louisville. All the screenings take place on Wednesday mornings, at 10 a.m.
