Hokkaido, the second largest island of Japan, is the northernmost prefecture. The spectacular landscape and beautiful natural suroundings attract many travelers. The weather is mild in summer. It's very cold in winter, but it's a good destination for skiing. There are many onsen hot springs in Hokkaido.

Tohoku region is located in northern Honshu Island in Japan and consists of Aomori, Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures. There are many well-known summer festivals are held in this region, such as Aomori Nebuta Matsuri and Sendai Tanabata Matsuri. Many sites in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture are inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

Kanto region is located in the middle of Honshu Island in Japan and consists of Tochigi, Gunma, Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, and Kanagawa prefectures. Tokyo is the capital of Japan. It's a good destination for travelers who want to enjoy the city life. Other popular destinations in this region are Yokohama, Kamakura, Hakone, Nikko, and so on.

Kinki region is located in western Japan and consists of Shiga, Kyoto, Mie, Nara, Wakayama, Osaka, and Hyogo prefectures. There are so many historical places to see in Kyoto and Nara. Osaka is a good destination to enjoy the city life of Japan.

The weather is generally mild in Kyushu, but the precipitation tends to be high during the rainy season. Popular tourist destinations include Fukuoka and Nagasaki.
