A major outdoor water park, Wet 'n' Wild SplashTown used to be part of the Six Flags chain. It is now independently owned and operated. It offers rides and slides for all age levels and includes some marquee attractions.
Among the park's more thrilling aquatic features are Rip Qurl and Big Spin, two bowl rides, and the 75-ft tall, 132-ft long Tornado, a funnel ride. The five-story Texas Freefall is a speed slide that offers a breathtaking ride.
While it is not necessarily thrilling, the double FlowRider surfing attraction requires some skill to master its wave riding.
For those more inclined to keep their heads above water (as it were), the park offers plenty of more relaxing fare as well, including a 500,000 gallon wave pool and the meandering Paradise River lazy river. Children of all sizes will enjoy the aquatic activity areas comprised of Wet 'n' Wild Jr., Tree House, and the Blue Lagoon Activity Pool, which feature a number of wet and wild interactive water elements like spray cannons, tipping buckets, fountains, geysers, lily pads, and small slides.
New at the Park
For 2014, the park welcomed FlowRider, a surfing attraction, Big Kahuna, a family raft ride in darkened, enclosed tunnels, and Wet 'n' Wild Jr., an expanded area for young children.
In 2013, the park introduced Brain Drain, a new slide complex that features launch chambers.
Discounts available for children (48" and under), seniors (62+), and for those who purchase tickets online. Children 2 & under get in free. Season passes and group passes also available. Private cabanas as well as inner tubes are available to rent. There is a parking fee. (Note that SplashTown is a stand-alone water park and not connected to a "dry" ride park.)
