Wedding venues located in the hills around Lake Travis offer dramatic settings for the big day. Now that the years-long drought is finally over, the Lake Travis area is lush, green and bustling with new vitality. The region's economic boom has given many wedding venue owners the confidence to invest in major renovations.

Located amid 10 acres of oak-covered hills and manicured grounds, Hacienda del Lago is perched on top of a hill overlooking Lake Travis. Ceremonies are held outdoors, and a huge tent is available for the reception. The couple can also stay overnight at the main house on-site. Hacienda del Lago earns bonus points in my book for having one of the sweetest, sappiest promotional videos I’ve ever seen. Have tissues handy before you view it. 14000 FM 2769, Volente; (512) 496-0099

Smaller ceremonies can be held outdoors on the lawn in the shade of 100-year-old live oak trees. 101 Lakeway Drive; (512) 261-7314
The Oasis restaurant on Lake Travis is known for tasty margaritas and jaw-dropping sunset views, but many people don’t realize there’s also a beautiful wedding venue within the same development. There are actually five different spaces within the venue to choose from based on your anticipated number of guests and budget. For smaller weddings, the second-floor Lakeside Terrace may be just the right size, with seating for up to 50 guests. If you’re expecting up to 100 guests, you may want to consider the Lone Star room.
It’s decked out in warm dark woods and a welcoming stone fireplace. A private deck is attached to the Lone Star room so that your wedding party can enjoy the sunsets together. The Sunset Villa might be a good option if the wedding is occurring during one of Austin’s unpredictable weather months. It’s fully enclosed, but the floor-to-ceiling windows still offer fantastic views of Lake Travis. For large weddings with up to 200 guests, it may be time to splurge on the best of the best, the Top of the Oasis.
The third-floor deck is arranged in such a way as to allow the bride and groom to have the entire lake as a backdrop during the ceremony, ensuring incredible photos. The interior has a granite bar, stone columns and a teakwood floor.
