The Washington Convention Center is located at 801 Mount Vernon Place (At 9th and 7th Sts.), NW in the heart of Washington, D.C., in the Penn Quarter neighborhood.

The Convention Center is just steps from great hotels, museums, restaurants, and shopping and Chinatown. The building is 2.3 million-square-feet and can accommodate more than 42,000 people.

The Convention Center is centrally located in the city and easy to get to. The closest Metro station is Mt. Vernon Sq/7th St. Convention Center. There are more than 3,000 parking spaces within a three block radius of the Washington Convention Center. See a list of parking lots and garages. The Georgetown-Union Station route of the DC Circulator Bus stops along K Street nearby. 

Dozens of hotels, offering a range of accommodations from high-end to economy, are located within a short walk of the Convention Center. The 1,175-room Marriott Marquis Washington DC is the connected to the building by a pedestrian walkway running east-west under 9th Street, NW.

Driving Directions to the Washington Convention Center

From Maryland (Northwest of DC):
Take I - 270 to I-495 West toward Northern Virginia
Take the George Washington Parkway exit towards Washington
Take 395 North
Take the 12th Street Exit
Proceed onto 12th Street
Turn right on Massachusetts Avenue
Massachusetts Avenue will become Mt. Vernon Place
The Washington Convention Center will be on your left
From Maryland (Northeast of DC):
Take I-95 South to the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (exit 22B) toward Washington
Take the Washington exit - US 50 West (on the right)
Stay on US - 50 West as it becomes New York Avenue
New York Avenue becomes Mt. Vernon Place
The Washington Convention Center will be on your right
From Virginia:
Take I - 495 to 395 North towards Washington
Take the 12th Street Exit
Proceed onto 12th Street
Turn right on Massachusetts Avenue
Massachusetts Avenue will become Mt. Vernon Place
The Washington Convention Center will be on your left
OR
Take Route 50/Constitution Avenue exit
Proceed onto Constitution Avenue
Turn left on 7th Street
Turn left on Mt. Vernon Place

Take the George Washington Parkway north to I-395 towards Washington
Follow signs to the 14th Street Bridge
