Many visitors view San Antonio as the ultimate Texas vacation destination. And, that is for good reason. Besides having a quaint, Old Southwest charm, San Antonio is chocked full of attractions and entertainment options, leaving most visitors wishing they had more time to spend in the Alamo City.

It is hard to say what the most popular attraction is in San Antonio. But, the Riverwalk, and Hemisfair Park are "must-see" landmarks. In addition, the world-famous San Antonio Zoo, which houses over 3,500 animals, is a favorite among children and adults alike. Other popular family-oriented attractions include San Antonio theme parks such as Sea World and Fiesta Texas.

Of course, the attraction which defines San Antonio is the Alamo. This historic mission is best known for being the site of one of the most infamous military battles in history. Today, visitors can tour the Alamo grounds and see for themselves where William B Travis, Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett and the rest of the legendary defenders of the Alamo battled Santa Anna's army. Considering it is located right off the Riverwalk, the Alamo is also conveniently located for most visitors to San Antonio. 

San Antonio also offers several unique dining and lodging options, ensuring that visitors have a memorable vacation. Among the top choices to stay are charming and historic La Mansion Del Rio, the elegant Gunter Hotel, the quaint Riverwalk Inn and the historic St. Anthony Wyndham.

When it comes to dining out, no visit to San Antonio is complete without a visit to the popular Riverwalk restaurant Biga on the Banks. The charming, three-level Las Canarias, which is part of the La Mansion Del Rio, is famous for their brunch menu and is a favorite among San Antonio residents and visitors alike. Of course, most San Antonio visitors want Tex-Mex food and there is certainly no shortage of top-notch restaurants to satisfy them. Among the most popular Mexican food restaurant in the Alamo City are La Margarita's, Tomatillo’s, Mi Tierra Café, and Cha-Cha’s Mexican Restaurant.

Of course, there are also plenty of other entertainment options to round out a visit to San Antonio. But, before heading on vacation, make sure you block out enough time to take it all in. As anyone who has visited San Antonio can tell you, finding a way to fill your vacation time isn’t a problem, but finding the time to do everything you want can be.
