Disney's Hollywood Studios offers more than great entertainment, there is plenty of enjoyment to be found at the park's eateries. Those that are vegetarian or vegan know it can be challenging to find quality food in some parts of the United States; fortunately, the restaurants in Disney's Hollywood Studios offer a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options.
From the fine dining at the Hollywood Brown Derby to some of the best snacks in Disney World at the Sunset Boulevard Candy Store, there is something for every taste. Disney has been working for years to appeal to specialty diets, even releasing a guide to the top vegetarian meals at Disney during Vegetarian Awareness Month in 2015.
Since then, Disney Hollywood Studio restaurants have expanded the menu even further with tasty options like grilled vegetable sandwiches, noodle bowl with wok-fried coconut tofu and soybeans, 7-Layer Rice Bowl with Vegan Chili, a Falafel Burger, and more.
Quick Bites and Fast Service Vegetarian
Although the restaurants at Disney's Hollywood Studios offer fewer vegetarian options than Disney World's other resorts and parks, there are still several delicious meat-free menu items you can enjoy as a vegetarian.
Anaheim Produce is the perfect place to pick up fresh fruits, fruit snacks, and vegetables or you could grab an imaginative salad at the ABC Commissary. The Trolley Car Cafe has pastries and serves some of the best coffee in Disney World, while both Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano and Catalina Eddie's offer pizza and a Caesar salad that can be ordered without the meat.
Like most character dining locations, the buffet at Hollywood & Vine is packed with tons of options, but be sure to double check with the staff to confirm that the daily pasta and soup offerings are really meat-free. You can at least count on appetizers and sides to satiate your appetite here, though.
Fine Dining and Other Options for Vegetarians
Not surprisingly, the finest dining location at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the Hollywood Brown Derby, is also the most adept at creating vegetarian dishes. The noodle bowl features wok-fried coconut tofu, soybeans, sugar snap peas, bok coy, and shiitake mushrooms in a red curry broth, and the restaurant will also produce wonderful vegetarian versions of menu favorites upon request.
The Backlot Express, which also ranks among the best in the park, offers a grilled vegetable sandwich that's served on basil asiago artisan bread and topped with cheese and sun-dried tomato pesto. It is chocked full of watercress, fresh mushrooms, red peppers, zucchini, and tomatoes, making it one of the best vegetarian options in Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Many of the meals at the mentioned eateries can be made vegan, so be sure to ask the server if that option is possible.
While this part of Disney World doesn't offer that wide of a selection of vegetarian dishes, other parks are more accommodating to this diet. Disney's Magic Kingdom theme park, for instance, has several restaurants with full vegetarian menus including the Crystal Palace buffet, Be Our Guest lunch quiche, and the Liberty Tree Tavern veggie sandwich.
