Vancouver Christmas Market
What: The Vancouver Christmas Market is an authentic outdoor German Christmas village featuring unique holiday shopping, seasonal music and entertainment, kids activities and traditional food and drinks.

 This year, for the first time, the Market moves to Jack Poole Plaza on the Downtown waterfront.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge
What: Every year, the Capilano Suspension Bridge transforms into a celebration of light for the holidays, with live music, kids activities, and more.

Free Ice Skating in Robson Square
What: The free Robson Square Ice Rink opens for the winter season, offering free ice skating outdoors in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

VanDusen Botanical Gardens' Festival of Lights
What: The gorgeous VanDusen Garden turns festive with elaborate light decorations, a Candy Cane Tree, Gingerbread Walk, Santa's workshop, and much more.

Yule Duel
What: This is the second annual Vancouver street caroling competition! Twenty Vancouver choirs will compete in Gastown at this fundraiser for May's Place, a hospice in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside neighbourhood.

Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting 2016
What: It's the 10th anniversary of the 50-foot-tall Vancouver Christmas Tree! The free Christmas Tree Lighting celebration includes live entertainment, free cookies and hot chocolate, food trucks, and kids' activities.

Christmas in Kerrisdale
What: Kerrisdale’s shopping district gets in the Christmas spirit on Saturdays, with Christmas decorations galore, free horse & carriage rides, roving quartets, and visits from Santa and his elf.

Sunday, December 4
Rogers Santa Claus Parade
What: The Rogers Santa Claus Parade features over 60 marching bands, dance troupes, festive floats and community groups, attracting over 300,000 spectators. Volunteers will also be collecting non-perishable goods for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

The VSO’s Traditional Christmas

What: The VMC’s popular holiday concert series returns to the the historic St.

Winter Solstice Lantern Festival
What: Take part in one of the world's oldest traditions at this annual event that celebrates the return of the light after the year's shortest day. The Festival includes lantern displays, live musical performances, and events in five Vancouver neighbourhoods, including Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden, Chinatown.
