New for 2016

40th Anniversary and New Flying Eagles- In celebration of its anniversary, the park will be bringing back an updated model of a classic Flying Scooters ride.

Park Overview

Minnesota's biggest park, Valleyfair offers a great collection of roller coasters and thrill rides. The signature Wild Thing hypercoaster offers a particularly thrilling experience. The park is owned and operated by Cedar Fair, which also includes Cedar Point and Knott's Berry Farm in its portfolio.

General admission includes access to the adjacent Soak City Waterpark. Valleyfair does offer activities for younger children, including the KidWorks area with pint-sized rides and an interactive Foam Ball Factory. It also offers live stage shows. Up-charge attractions include go-karts, mini-golf, and the RipCord freefall Sky Coaster.

Featured Attractions

Nice collection of wooden coasters including Renegade, the classic High Roller, and the hybrid wood and steel Excalibur. The well-regarded Wild Thing hypercoaster soars over 200 feet and reaches a top speed of 74 mph. Other attractions include the Power Tower freefall ride, the 185-foot Steel Venom impulse coaster, the Xtreme Swing thrill ride, and a good collection of rides for younger kids. Shows include live musical productions and an IMAX large-screen movie theater.

New for 2015
Water Park expansion
Soak City got the Breakers Pipeline, a water slide tower with four slides, a couple of which feature trap door releases. It also opened an interactive splash pad called Barefoot Beach.

New for 2014
Route 76
The retro-themed area features the ride, Northern Lights, a "Disk'o Coaster" that shuttles back and forth on a coaster track, as well as other returning and relocated rides.

Dinosaurs Alive
You can ogle mechanical dinosaurs, but it costs extra at this upcharge land.

Water Park

The adjacent Soak City Waterpark is included with admission. It offers a wave pool, body slides, tube slides, the 4-person Hurricane Falls raft ride, the Raging Rapids action river, and the interactive water play structure, Splash Station.

Valleyfair offers a number of admission options and prices including single- and two-consecutive-day-passes (the two-day passes are only slightly higher than the one-day passes), and a discounted after-5 p.m. ticket. Reduced rates are available for children and seniors. Admission is free for ages 2 and under. Soak City Waterpark is included with admission. Season passes for Valleyfair and all Cedar Fair parks are available.


From the north: I-35W South to the Shakopee or Hwy 13 exit. Hwy 13 to county road 101N to Valleyfair.

From the east: I-494W to 169S to Shakopee or County Road 101 exit to Valleyfair.

From the west: I-494S to 169S to Shakopee or County Road 101 exit to Valleyfair.

From the south: I-35W north to the Shakopee or Hwy 13S exit. Hwy 13 to county road 101N to Valleyfair.
