Cleveland's University Circle cultural district is home to the Cleveland Museum of Art, Severance Hall, Case Western Reserve University, and about a dozen other museums, schools, and attractions. There are plenty of restaurants in the area, from plain to fancy, where you can take a break from your day of sightseeing. Here are our favorites:
Palette Lounge at the Glidden House
Located on the Case Western Reserve University campus, L'Albatros serves up traditional French bistro food in a charming carriage house setting. Highlights of the menu include French onion soup, "choucroute garni" (sauerkraut with sausages and smoked pork), and "cassoulet" (a traditional French casserole with beans, bacon, and assorted braised meats).
Provenance at the Cleveland Museum of Art is a delightful space filled with artwork from the museum's collection and a tree-shaded patio in the center court of the building. The food includes cold sandwiches and salads, a choice of hot entrees and soup daily, desserts, and beverages, including beer and wine.
