Tucson, AZ Resorts With Water Parks
© Judy Hedding There are several wonderful resorts in Tucson, Arizona. When you are looking for one with waterpark-like amenities that the kids will really enjoy, one of the local resorts on the following pages might be just the right one.
Locals looking for a way to enjoy a "staycation" while the kids have a blast on a lazy river or on a waterslide might seek out these special resorts that cater to families with special packages, Kids Clubs, summer camps and evening programs. Why not save on airfare and gas and vacation in your own backyard? Maybe with those savings you can even splurge on an all-day air conditioned poolside cabana while the kids spend their days splashing in the pool!

JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass
© Judy Hedding The JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa offers water fun for both kids and adults. I like to casually float around the Starr Canyon Lazy River -- they call it "lazy" for a reason! -- while the kids enjoy the heated Monsoon Falls Waterslide. There's a zero-depth pop-jet fountain for the little ones (yes, I like that one, too) and couple of nice, large regular pools.

Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa
© Judy Hedding The Westin La Paloma has five spectacular pools, and features one of Tucson's longest resort water slides, the 177 foot long SlideWinder. Need a break from the kids? There is a pool with a waterfall, and the adult pool that provides a calmer experience. This resort also has a swim-up bar. I had to try it -- it's my job! In the summer, dive-in movies are included for resort guests.

Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort
© Judy Hedding For more than 30 years the El Conquistador has served as a convenient and enjoyable destination for business travelers and families. In 2002 it became a Hilton, adding that prestigious name to its already fine reputation.
The Desert Springs Oasis features several pools and a 143-foot waterslide. The children's pool, Shallow Springs, is shaped like a fish with interactive water features in the tail. Children under the 42 inch height requirements of the water slide can splash in their own custom area. Can't decide if you want your dip hot or cold? Try the hot springs alternating with a waterfall-fed cold plunge.

Casino Del Sol Resort
© Clare Hahne, Off Madison Ave, used with permission The Casino del Sol Resort combines a luxury hotel with casino and entertainment. It is owned and operated by the Pascua Yaqui tribe, and receives high marks from prestigious travel organizations. In addition to fine dining, casino gambling, golf and amphitheater entertainment, the inviting pool gives the resort's name -- Casino of the Sun -- appropriate meaning as guests head outside to relax and swim. Although there are no water slides or lazy rivers here, there is a very attractive and inviting splash pad, where all ages can enjoy zero depth water fun.
