The TPC Four Seasons Resort and Club, Irving, Texas

The TPC Four Seasons Resort and Club, Irving, Texas features the las Colinas golf course, the signature feature of a world-class, award-winning golf resort located just 10 miles from downtown Dallas. The 18-hole, par-70 course plays a staggering difficult 7,166 yards from the championship tees and was designed to test the Tour players to the limit, and so it does. But the layout was not designed with only for the Gods of the PGA Tour in mind, it had to be a fair test and an enjoyable outing for us mere mortal golfers too.

The golf course, originally designed Jay Morish in 1982, with a more than a little help Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw, was updated in 2008 by former Tour player D.A. Weibring and his partner architect Steve Wolfard, and of course, they did an amazing job.

The complex also features a driving range, practice bunker along with putting greens and chipping practice areas. Need to tune up your swing? Professional instruction is available at the Four Seasons Golf School through certified PGA golf instructors. Golf club and shoe rental services are available at the pro shop, and full-service locker rooms.

The Four Seasons Las Colinas is one of Dallas' high-end facilities offering luxury accommodations and a whole range of world-class amenities, including a full-service spa.

Updated in 2006, the 18-hole, par 71 Cottonwood Valley Golf course at Las Colina plays a daunting 7,120 yards. The course features tight, Bermuda grass fairways and well-guarded Bentgrass greens and tee boxes and strategically placed bunkers. The number one signature hole's green was designed by the course's original golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr., in the shape of Texas with a bunker in the shape of Oklahoma and a lake resembling the Gulf of Mexico. Different, but I'm not quite sure how well it works.

Cottonwood Valley serves as the exclusive golf course for members of The Sports Club at Four Seasons.

Visit the Club's web site for information on private membership.
