The Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas
When the word was out that the Hacienda would be imploded to make room for a new hotel I was sick to my stomach. When the Mandalay Bay opened in March of 1999 I actually said, "Hacienda, what Hacienda?" The past is soon forgotten in Las Vegas but the future always looks good.
The Mandalay combines class, elegance and hip in a huge mega-resort that offers everything you need for a fun time in Las Vegas.

The Bars at Mandalay Bay Hotel
If you want the best wine list in the city go to Aureole,. If you want the biggest rum selection go to rumjungle,. If you want the biggest vodka selection go to Red Square. A few words before you decide to hit all the bars at Mandalay Bay. Eyecandy sound lounge and bar is so much fun you might end up disregarding the club scene just to flirt with technology.
If you decide to hit Red Square and Aureole in the same night keep in mind that mixing wine and vodka can lead to an ugly morning. I have been down that ugly road a few times and there is no getting around a wickedly cruel wife who opens the curtains at 7 a.m.
The house of Blues has a decent bar and the lounge at THEHotel is nice and very upscale. Sink into the deep leather chairs and toss back some bourbon. Dress up though; it’s nice in that area of the Mandalay Bay. If you are looking for a little live entertainment hit the lounge and dance the night away for free.
The House of Blues Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel
The House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay has an 1800 seat theatre, a bar and a restaurant. Get there on a Sunday for Brunch and stay all after noon. Top name entertainment is common and southern style food will dazzle your taste buds.
The Hotel at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay is plush, its modern, and its hip. If you want to spend a little extra and get a lot in return this is where you should do it. All rooms are suites; all have flat screens, separate living and sleeping areas and top of the line furnishings and décor. Do you want heaven on earth? Go to THEhotel.
When you’re there go to THEcafe and have the best burger you can ever imagine. This piece of beef sandwiched between two lovely pieces of bread will make your eyes water with joy.
Shopping at the Mandalay Place Las Vegas
This is 55 degrees and if you love wine you will love the Mandalay Place and 55 degrees. The Mandalay Place offers high end shopping in a comfortable atmosphere. My personal favorites as of late are the Nike Golf store and the Art of Shaving. If you want a good burger try the Burger Bar or the Seafood at RM Seafood.
By a book, have some coffee and relax as you have one foot in the hustle of Las Vegas and another in the comfort of the Mandalay Place.

Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay Hotel
Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is perfect for you and your children to spend some time underwater. Well, actually you’re just walking through a tube under water but it is impressive. The aquarium has entertaining exhibits and hands on stations for children to learn about the undersea world.
