Looking for the best events and festivals this month in San Jose? Here are some ideas for things to do in February 2016.

Super Bowl 50, February 7

No doubt the biggest event this month is the 50th Anniversary Super Bowl at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Check out this post for our complete guide to Super Bowl 50 including where to stay, what to do, and game day tips. 

Now that that's out of the way, here's everything else that's happening this month. And yes, much of it is Super Bowl-inspired.

Light Shows & Beer Garden at Cesar Chavez Park, January 29 - February 7

What: For nine days leading up to Super Bowl, the downtown San Jose park’s trees will be filled 24/7 with an animated LED display synchronized with live and recorded music. There will also be a café/beer garden from noon until 10 p.m., food trucks, and games including a scaled-down football field.

Screenprint San Jose Pop Up Shop, January 30 to February 7

Check out the winners of the San Jose's "Screenprint Showdown", a competition of local artists sharing their San Jose-inspired designs. Local screenprint houses will use the best designs to produce posters, T-shirts, and wood signs that will be for sale at a temporary, pop-up shop for one week only. The shop will also be host local artists doing live art in person. Date/Time: Jan. 30 to Feb. 7, 11am-3pm & 5-9pm.

Downtown Ice, Daily through February 7

Go ice skating under palm trees! The Hawaiian Airlines Kristi Yamaguchi Downtown Ice is an outdoor skating rink in the heart of Downtown San Jose. Find out more on the website.

Free Downtown San Jose Walking Tour, February 2 to February 6

Join San Jose Walks & Talks for these student-led walking tours of Downtown San Jose including local history, art, culture, and more. Tours start at 5 pm each day.

The Beer Blitz at Santana Row, February 4

A Super Bowl-inspired beer walk, featuring ten breweries in eight locations across Santana Row. Each stop represents a division of the NFL. Tickets include unlimited tastings, an official Big Game swag bag from sponsor Anheuser Busch, and a passport for Santana Row shopping and dining discounts. Time: 5pm-9pm. Tickets available on the website.

South First Friday Art Walk & Winter Market, February 5 - February 6

South First Friday Art Walk is a self-guided nighttime tour through galleries, museums, and creative businesses featuring eclectic art exhibitions and special performances. A special winter market will be set up featuring artists, craft retailers, live music, and DIY activities. Art Walk: Friday, Feb. 5, from 7-11pm. Winter Market: Runs through the art walk on February 5, and also Saturday, February 6, 12-6pm.

Super San Pedro, February 5 - February 7

To celebrate the Super Bowl, Downtown's San Pedro Street will host "Super San Pedro", an interactive football fan experience. The hub will have real turf striped like a football field, foam footballs to toss around, and free games for the whole family. Date/Time: Friday February 5, 11:30am-2pm, Saturday, February 6, noon-4pm and Sunday February 7, 11:30 am-2:30.

Vietnamese Tet Festival - February 13 - February 14

The biggest local Vietnamese New Year (called tet) event includes a parade with lion dances, martial arts demos, music, and food vendors sharing traditional Vietnamese new year's foods.

Stanford Pan Asian Music Festival, February 21 - February 22

Two different conferences featuring the sounds of musical groups from all across Asia, from Japan to Azerbaijan. The 12th annual celebration honors the Chinese New Year and will feature decorations from around the world. Tickets available on the website.

Tet Festival - A Passport to Vietnam, February 21 - February 22, 10am-9pm

A family-friendly celebration featuring food, music, games, and traditional cultural performances.

Where: Evergreen Valley High School, 3300 Quimby Rd., San Jose

Bacon and Beer Classic, February 27

A celebration of bacon and beer! The event features more than 40 craft breweries and 30 local restaurants offering bacon-inspired dishes.There will be a bacon-eating contest and interactive games. This is a rare chance to get down on the field of Levi's Stadium! Tickets available on the website.
