Hotels offering stunning views of the waterfront and skyline, with spa packages and some of the best restaurants in town just right around the corner—that's what makes Vancouver, British Columbia, a major destination for couples looking for romance.

Sure, an Airbnb might be cheaper, but you'll never find the amenities and the charming ambiance that Vancouver's high-end hotels offer. Some are even frequented by a celebrity crowd.

Yaletown is one of Downtown Vancouver's trendiest neighborhoods for dining and nightlife and the Opus Hotel is right in the middle of the action. In fact, the Opus Hotel's bar is frequented by a celebrity clientele. Named one of the "Top 5 Trendiest Hotels in the World" by TripAdvisor, the Opus Hotel is definitely among the sexiest and most modern of Vancouver hotels. Sleek, chic, and wonderfully colorful, the hotel also offers a vast array of complimentary services, including luxury car service to Downtown Vancouver locations, complimentary iPads and phones to use during your stay, and mountain bikes for cycling around Vancouver.

Located in the heart of Downtown, the gorgeous Rosewood Hotel Georgia is one of Vancouver's most historic hotels. Reopened in 2011 after a $120 million remodel that restored—and even surpassed—the grandeur of its heyday, this luxury hotel offers a wide range of amenities and services. Come in the summer and you can enjoy drinks at the très chic patio lounge, Reflections, one of the sexiest cocktail spots in Vancouver.

The Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel has arguably the best waterfront views in the city. But it isn't just the view that makes it so romantic. The Pan Pacific has so many high-end offerings you won't need to leave the hotel at all. The hotel's Spa Utopia, for instance, is one of the Top 5 Spas in Vancouver (and it has special areas for couples). You can also dine in high style at the acclaimed, onsite Five Sails restaurant.

Pro tip: Request a room numbered 10 or 15. They're corner rooms with double the views (for an additional charge).

The Sylvia isn't the most fashionable hotel, but it is very historic (more than 100 years old, to be exact). It earns a place on this list of romantic Vancouver hotels for its enviable West End location: It's the only hotel in Vancouver that's actually located on a beach. The Sylvia is across from English Bay Beach, one of the best beaches in Vancouver and a perfect setting for strolling at sunset. It's also close to many restaurants, gelaterias, and Stanley Park.

This luxury boutique hotel in Downtown Vancouver is ideal for getting some quality time with your sweetheart. The rooms come with fireplaces, warm cookies, and bathtubs big enough for two. At night, you can dine at the onsite Bacchus Restaurant, an old-world French eatery that doubles as a piano bar. Date night, sorted.
