They range from big cities to island getaways, but all the spas have an intimate scale, a sense of privacy, and sensual surroundings to inspire romance.
If you're looking for a romantic spa getaway, make sure you know what kind of spa you're going to. One couple I know of were disappointed because they imagined hanging out by the fire in their robes -- but there was no co-ed relaxation area. Another couple wanted some alone time and ended up at a juice fasting detox spa. It's hard to feel romantic when there are business people everywhere, or kids running past you in the hallways.
