It's a technological world, and if you're not up to date on the latest electronics, you could be considered "behind the times." Electronic items are top gift items for the holiday season as well, especially for the guys. Guys love gadgets. We just can't help it.
If you're looking for that perfect tech gift for someone or if you just want to pick up something for yourself, here are some of the best places to go around Oklahoma City.
Best Buy typically has all the brands. The prices are very reasonable, and it's a one-stop-shop for everything from computers to cameras, televisions to appliances. Don't go in expecting the employees to know much about the items, and some of the stores are a tad cramped, but overall, it is a top spot to go for electronics.
Locations: 2135 W Memorial Rd, 5801 N May, 7202 S I-35 Service Rd, 7321 SE 29th (Midwest City), 2700 S Service Rd (Moore), 400 26th Ave NW (Norman)
Sears is an old standby for appliances, tools or automotive needs, but it also has a fairly nice electronics selection. Of course, you have the good news-bad news of the attentive employee, always there when you have a question but also always there when you just want to browse. But the stores offer a comfortable shopping experience, much more so than the crowds you'll face at a Best Buy or Wal-Mart.
Locations: 6909 E. Reno Ave. (Heritage Park Mall/Midwest City), 3201 W. Main St. (Norman)
Of course, you won't find the appliances here, but Target's electronics department is surprisingly extensive. All the gadgets you could want and some good prices put Target on the list. A comfortable shopping atmosphere and generally good customer service put them higher than others. Once again, you won't find clerks with unending electronics knowledge, but they can still be occasionally helpful.
Locations: Multiple metro locations including 800 SW 44th St, 5400 N May Ave and 7305 SE 29th St (Midwest City)
Yes, yes, it's Wal-Mart. But it's tough to ignore the fact you'll find some good deals here on electronics. Not to mention the fact that Wal-Mart is typically very good about returns should you have problems. Cameras, televisions, DVD players, computers, game systems, portable electronics... Wal-Mart has it all. They have a tendency to put returned items on the shelf, something we dislike, but overall it's a quick electronics source.
Locations: Numerous. Check this map.
You have all of the options at Conn's, from computers and gaming to audio/video, cameras, appliances and more. It's a one-stop shop for the big stuff, and there's a nice selection of high-end products as well as bargains to be had.
Locations: 3315 NW Expressway #B&C, 7301 South Pennsylvania
CDR concentrates on cell phones, tablets, games, and gaming systems primarily, but you can definitely find some deals here. They also buy used items.
Location: 1604 W I-240 Service Rd
