Novel Memphis

Formerly known as The Booksellers at Laurelwood (and Davis-Kidd before that), this locally-run bookstore now called "Novel" in East Memphis has big plans for a third iteration set to open in late summer 2017. If it maintains many of the features of past versions, Novel will boast a knowledgeable staff, a children's department, an extensive section of books by local authors, a gift shop and a cafe.

Burke's Book Store has been a fixture in Memphis for more than 100 years (It likes to brag it has survived two World Wars!) This unique Midtown shop offers both new and used books, plus a nice collection of first edition and out-of-print books. More importantly, they will assist you if you are in search of a particularly hard to find book. If for no other reason than to experience its true bookstore ambiance, it would be worthwhile to plan a trip to Burke's.
