Savannah is home to many extraordinary sights, from its charming (and, potentially, haunted) historical buildings, to world-class events like the Savannah Film Festival and the Savannah Tour of Homes, to the impossibly idyllic beaches of nearby Tybee Island. Something you might not realize about Savannah, however, is that it's got a large – and growing – food scene. One Savannah hot spot in particular, Jen's and Friends, boasts a particularly sweet honor: The most unique drinks in town and, potentially, the country.

Rice Krispies Treat Martinis are Just the Beginning

Officially, Jen's and Friends is a sandwich shop, boasting an enviable menu featuring cold cuts like smoked turkey and roast beef, a fine selection of breads and even remarkable condiments, such as "raspberry glaze." Where Jen's and Friends really stands out, however, is their martinis – emphasis on the "really."

The most infamous of Jen's martinis is probably the Rice Krispies Treat Martini, garnished with an actual square of everyone's favorite ooey-gooey childhood snack. To be sure, many of Jen's most popular martinis are of the sweet sort, from the crunchy Nutter Butter Martini, to the smokey Smores Martini, to the sticky, sweet Peanut Butter Oreo Martini. You can even celebrate your birthday with a liquid gift to yourself: Jen's Birthday Cake Martini. Yes, it tastes like the real thing!

Come for the Happy Hour, But Don't Limit Yourself

Jen's and Friends' martinis aren't cheap, but they're not outrageous.

The menu includes three tiers of martinis, priced at $8, $9 and $10 as of September 2015, and since all of Jen's staff makes all of their sweet martinis with premium vodkas and liquers, this is actually a pretty good deal.

If you're looking for a steal, you can visit during Happy Hour, which runs from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, and features $2 domestic drafts, $3 glasses of wine and $4 cosmos and appletinis.

Jen's sweetest – and most famous – martinis are conspicuously absent from the happy hour menu, however, so while low prices on other drinks are great if you want to get a buzz without going broke, you'll need to fork out slightly more cash if you want to sample the crème de la crème.

How – and When – to Visit Jen's and Friends

Jen's and Friends is located on East Congress Street in the heart of historical Savannah, approximately equidistant from both the Savannah River and many of Savannah's best hotels, so it's easy to reach no matter where in the city you are. Jen's and Friends opens each day (except Sunday) at 3 p.m., and since the shop sells sandwiches in addition to all its delicious drinks, it's as perfect a choice for a late lunch as it is for a midnight mixed drink.

The scenic patio at Jen's and Friends is always a great place to enjoy your meals and martinis, since Savannah enjoys great weather all year round. Indeed, Jen's and Friends is not so much a standout in the spectacular city of Savannah as it is a gem of mixology that deservedly stands along the city's greatest attractions – culinary and otherwise.
