The golf course at Henry Horton State Park, Chapel Hill, TN, is an 18-hole championship layout and a part of the Tennessee Golf Trail. The golf course plays a little more than 7,000 yards from the Blue tees – there are three sets of tees available: Blue, White and Red. The par is 72; the course rating from the Blue tees is 74.3, and the slope is 128. From the forward tees (Red), the course plays a very manageable 5,600 yards. Although it’s not one of the Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses on the Bear Trace in Tennessee, Henry Horton is rated one of the finest golf courses in the state, and that's something I can attest to, having played it several times.

Don't miss this one.

Henry Horton is an old-style golf course, a remote world, heavily forested with wide fairways and large greens. The course was in terrific condition when I was there. The staff is terrific: friendly and ever-willing to help. With on-site accommodations, and it’s close proximity to all that’s on offer in Nashville, Henry Horton is a great venue for a golf outing.

Green Fees: These are as good a reason as any for planning a visit to Henry Horton: The weekday rate for 18 holes, in season (Mid March through October), is just $24, with a cart it’s $39. On weekends the rate for 18 holes with a cart is $42. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Tee Times: You must book a tee time, 7 days a week. Tee times can be booked 6 days in advance. Call the number listed below.
