The Big One, also known as the Memphis Flea Market, is arguably the largest and most popular swap meet in the Mid-South. For years, the market was held at the Mid-South Fairgrounds in the central part of Memphis. But as the fair moved from the property and many of the old structures were torn down, the Memphis Flea Market also migrated out of the heart of the city.
Today, the Mid-South Fairgrounds is home to enlarged tailgating at Tiger Lane adjacent to the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Not to worry, as flea market fans can easily access the Agricenter International property near Shelby Farms Park near Walnut Grove Road and Germantown Parkway.
The Big One takes place inside the Expo Center at Agricenter International, located at 7777 Walnut Grove Road in Memphis. There is a no-dog policy inside the Expo Center.
Dates and Times
The Big One is held on the third weekend of every month and is open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on both Saturdays and Sundays. Occasionally, The Big One will be open for an additional weekend of shopping, such as the Christmas Bazaar in December.
Each month more than 500 vendors set up booths at The Big One. These vendors offer new and used merchandise including trading cards, collectibles, antiques, jewelry, electronics, clothing, furniture, gardening supplies, food, and more.
The market features indoor booths that are overflowing with options in home décor such as rugs, candles, pictures, ironwork, a large selection of floral, and home improvement ideas. There also is plenty of women’s apparel, children’s clothing, handbags, a large selection of jewelry vendors, makeup and fragrance vendors and a large range of collectibles.
There also is a variety of food options.
