Figs Pizza is so much more than your everyday pizza, it’s much more. With locations in both Beacon Hill and Charlestown, their large, irregularly-shaped pizza has become quite popular, especially among neighborhood locals (their motto is “never trust a round pizza”). It has a thin, crisp crust made with a special cooking technique, though it’s also the high-quality ingredients used that make the pizza as delicious as it is. Pizza options include traditional varieties, along with popular picks such as fig and prosciutto, crispy eggplant and the Red Sox — made with caramelized onions, red peppers, sweet sausage, mozzarella, tomato sauce and a mustard aioli.
For Italian cuisine, try Grotto. This restaurant isn’t on the main roads of Beacon Hill, but rather on the back side of the neighborhood, so some consider it a hidden gem. The menu is filled with contemporary Italian dishes, including fra diavolo, chicken parmesan and veal parmesan. To try out more of the men, Grotto also offers prix fixe dinner options for both $36 and $42 per person, depending on what you’re in the mood to taste.
If you’re looking for a modern steakhouse in Beacon Hill, Mooo is the place for you. Next to the XV Beacon Hotel, Mooo has an extensive menu of a la carte steak dishes, seafood and other specials. The restaurant also offers brunch on Sundays, and if you want food that is a bit more casual, there is a bar menu with oysters, burgers, pizza and more. Mooo also has a nice event space, The Wine Cellar, which holds up to 50 seated guests. Mooo is owned by Columbus Hospitality Group, which also owns Mistral, Teatro, Ostra, Sorellina and L’Andana.

Chef Barbara Lynch, who grew up in South Boston, has become a household name when it comes to top-rated restaurants in Boston. No. 9 Park, which can be found in a Beacon Hill townhouse, is no exception. Here you’ll enjoy a fine dining experience with mix of Italian and French cuisine — all simple and flavor-forward. An extensive wine list promises the perfect pairing with whatever menu item you select.
Tatte Bakery & Café
In 2015, Tatte Bakery & Café opened its fifth location on Charles Street in Beacon Hill, which has since become a neighborhood staple. Offering breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch Friday through Sunday, this is where you’ll want to go for fresh pastries, tarts, cookies (try the pistachio) and cakes. For more savory treats, choose from tartines like avocado with a poached egg on sourdough, full plates like the vegetable and wild rice bowl, an egg-in-hole on a bagel, quiches, sandwiches, salads and so much more. Of course, there’s also a full menu of coffees, espressos and teas. When the weather is nice, you can opt to sit outside on their patio while you enjoy your food and coffee and get some work in.
The Tip Tap Room
The Tip Tap Room is where to go for exactly what the name says — tips and taps. That is, tips ranging from steak and turkey, to swordfish, lamb and tofu, and a wide selection of beers on tap from all over the world. The restaurant vibe is that of an upscale pub, with the menu much more elevated than traditional pub food. Aside from tips, choose from a variety of small plates like grilled corn, brussels sprouts and duck drumettes, several types of burgers and other entrees including braised wild boar, gnocchi and steak frites.
