Plush loungers surround the gold mosaic-lined pool and a sliding roof retracts when the weather's warm enough. After a dip in the heated water enjoy a glass of bubbly or an energizing smoothie paired with healthy light bites. 

Take a dip: The pool is free for hotel guests. There's a £150 charge (per person, per day) for non-​residents. Reservations must be made in advance.

Part of the Soho House group, this heated open-air pool is open all year round and overlooks London's skyscraper-studded skyline. There are tons of original Art Deco features and the stylish pool is kitted out in marble and brass. It may be located in the basement but the space is flooded with light under a glass roof. It's a great spot for a late-night dip as it's open until midnight seven days a week.

For a sky-high swim, check out the infinity pool on the 52nd floor of the Shangri-La Hotel at the Shard where the floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning panoramic views of the London skyline. The heated pool faces west so you can clock up the lengths while taking in views of St Paul's Cathedral, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.

Hidden away in the hotel's former kitchens, this oval-shaped pool forms part of a subterranean spa with Gorgeous Victorian features including brick archways and restored 19th-century tiling. The hotel may be next to one of London's busiest train stations but you'd never know it while splashing around in the 12-meter pool that's heated to a balmy 34 degrees Celsius. 

Take a dip: Use of the pool is free for hotel guests. Spa day passes are available for £50 and include the use of the pool, the steam room, the sauna and the gym for up to four hours.
