If you’re lucky enough to have Red Sox tickets, you’ll find a slew of options in the vicinity of Fenway Park and Kenmore Square to grab a bite and a beer before – or after - the game. Here are some of the best.

Beerworks Brewing

Address
61 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215, USA
Phone

Directly across the street from Gate A, Boston Beerworks Brewing is the best place for the discerning palette’s pre-game brew. The Bunker Hill Blueberry Ale (including real blueberries) is a popular favorite, but don’t miss either the Back Bay IPA or the Buckeye Oatmeal Stout. Get there early on game day if you plan on grabbing a bite, as the place will be packed. The burgers will make the effort worth it.

Lower Depths

Sister bar to the popular Bukowski’s in Boston’s Back Bay, Lower Depths brings a selection of rare drafts and bottled beer to Kenmore Square. It’s a great pit stop after a game, en route to the Green Line. The kitchen is open until 12:30 a.m. Outdoor seating when weather allows.

The Bleacher Bar

Address
82A Lansdowne St, Boston, MA 02215, USA
Phone
+1 617-262-2424

This addition to the Fenway bar scene just might be the coolest. Patrons of The Bleacher Bar get a front-row seat of the action through a small window that allows for a clear, albeit limited, view of the outfield during Red Sox games. In the offseason, it’s a great way to catch up on the latest renovations going down at the Boston landmark.

The Lansdowne Pub offers patrons an Irish option in the shadow of the Green Monster. Classic fare such as homemade pot pies and Irish stew may not be classic ballpark dining, but that's probably why this place works amidst its more straightforward competitors.

Game On!

Address
82 Lansdowne St, Boston, MA 02215-3411, USA
Phone
+1 617-351-7001

Fenway Park’s version of an ESPN Zone. Home to more than 90 TVs, Game On! is a great place to catch the game – either the one being played in the same building – or one 3,000 miles away. It’s the next-best thing to being there. The downside: as far as the average cost of food and drinks is concerned, you’ll pay as if you really were there.

Cornwall’s

Address
654 Beacon St, Boston, MA 02215, USA
Phone

If you're not in the mood for bumping elbows with the pre-game crowds, Cornwall's is a great option. It's tucked away on the opposite side of the Beacon St. T station that helps deliver thousands to the game, and thus is not as overly-crowded as some of the other hot spots. Here you will find a wide selection of drafts, including some tasty English bitters. Board games are available should you have the sudden urge for a game of Yahtzee.

The Baseball Tavern

Phone

The roof deck at The Baseball Tavern may be one of the best summer spots in Boston. With a clear view of the Fenway Park Jumbotron, you can practically smell the hot dogs and peanuts from across the street, where the roar of the crowd will alert you to a game development seconds before the TV delay.

Cask 'N Flagon

Address
62 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215, USA
Phone
+1 617-536-4840

It has lost some of its charm following a recent renovation. But what the Cask sacrificed in nostalgia, it gained in an attractive spot for a bite before the game, with a wide array of outdoor seating on the sidewalk of Lansdowne St. It remains the go-to meeting place for legions of Sox fans heading to the game.

This a spin-off of the popular Eventide Oyster Co. in Portland, Maine and does not disappoint. They also serve beer and wine, so you'll be covered for your pre-game.
