Overview - Tanger Outlets

Tanger (rhymes with hangar) Outlets is an outdoor shopping area, opened in 2012. It is the only Tanger Factory Outlet Center in Arizona, although there are other outlet malls.

There are more than 60 stores at Tanger in Glendale. It is considered an outlet mall because you will typically find name brand merchandise being sold at a better price than you might at a regular department store that carries many brands. Most of the stores sell apparel, shoes and accessories, but you will find a few stores that sell other merchandise, like toys and kitchen gadgets. While the stores are air conditioned, the walkways are not. There are fans in the covered areas of the walkways, and it is easy to find shade.

Anchor or main stores

Since this is an outlet mall, there are really no anchor stores here. Saks 5th Avenue, Guess, H&M, Calvin Klein, Nike, Dress Barn, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren, for example, have larger stores.

My favorite stores at Tanger Outlets:

There are so many! First of all, there are about 30 stores that sell shoes, including Converse, Steve Madden, Nine West, Skechers and Cole Haan. I love shoes, and I could probably spend an entire day here just shopping for shoes! As far as my other favorites, I'd have to say Banana Republic, Coach, Fossil, Michael Kors, Kitchen Collection, Under Armour and Eddie Bauer.

Food Court:

There are so many restaurants at Westgate Entertainment District, right next door, that you will find only a few places here to get a snack, a sandwich or a beverage. You won't find a typical food court here.

Worth mentioning:

• Tanger Outlets is a great stop to browse or shop after a movie at AMC Westgate.
• There are a couple of small, coin-operated kiddie rides at Tanger Outlets, as well as a children's play area near Puma.
• For some wet fun, you can take the little ones over to the splash pad at Westgate's Fountain Park.
• Tanger Outlets offers free WiFi.
• Stop by Guest Services next to Puma to check on specials, coupons, and get a map of the mall.

More to know:

On days when there are games or concerts at University of Phoenix Stadium or Jobing.com Arena, parking may be restricted.

Tanger Outlets is located in Glendale, Arizona. That's just west of Phoenix.

Take Loop 101 (Agua Fria) north to Glendale Avenue. Turn east on Glendale Avenue. Stay on the right side of Glendale Avenue and make the first right on 95th Ave. Tanger Outlets is on your right. See this location on Google Maps.
