There are Fourth of July celebrations and fireworks all over the Greater Phoenix area for the holiday, and three of the largest are accessible by Valley Metro Rail. Light rail will provide enhanced service on the 4th of July.

Monday, July 4, 2016 is the observed transit holiday. Bus and light rail will operate a Sunday/holiday schedule. There will be no Express and RAPID bus service.

Tempe bus service on the 4th of July will be extended to support the Tempe Town Lake Festival.

After 5 p.m., many Tempe bus routes will run every 15 minutes northbound to the Tempe Transportation Center until 8 p.m. with return service from 10 p.m. to midnight on designated routes.

The Fabulous Phoenix Fourth in central Phoenix, the Tempe Town Lake Festival  in Tempe and the Arizona Celebration of Freedom in Mesa are within walking distance from Valley Metro Rail stations:
