    Discovery Green

    Discovery Green is a 12-acre park located in the heart of downtown Houston. Park visitors can expect to enjoy an interactive water fountain, model boat basin, dog park and playground. Several dining options are available, and the park offers fun, kid-friendly activities — from outdoor movies to zumba classes — all summer long.

    Located in far Northwest Houston, Splashtown houses acres of water slides, tube rides and interactive children’s play areas. Beat the Texas heat by going tubing down a lazy river, splashing around in the wave pool, or sliding down a 7-story water slide. Season passes and discounted group rates available.

    Prelude offers musical instruction for children from birth to 5 years of age in a relaxed, parent-and-me environment. Instructors lead families in activities that introduce such fundamentals of music as rhythm, pitch and tempo. Members are also granted the opportunity to attend live classical music demonstrations throughout the course.

    One of Houston's must-see museums, the Children’s Museum provides hours of stimulating entertainment for children as well as their parents. Interactive exhibits in the fields of science, history and the arts include an ecology station, hydropower simulation and building zone. Free Family Nights are on Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

    One of the best pools in Houston, the Noah’s Ark pool is an ideal attraction for families with small children. Shallow water and a variety of toddler-friendly slides and waterfalls make this a safe and enjoyable way for families to escape the heat. The Quillian Center also includes two full-size swimming pools, a basketball pavilion and an indoor climbing wall for older children. Facilities are available to rent for parties or other large-group gatherings.

    Minute Maid Park

    Experience an up-close look at one of the most beautifully designed stadiums in the nation. Tourists may visit press boxes, dugouts and luxury suites. Be one of the first to arrive and enjoy the view of batting practice from Diamond Club seats. Tours are offered almost daily and last approximately one hour. Tickets can be purchased in advance online and cost $15 for adults and $10 for children (ages 3-12), with discounts for seniors over 65 and military personnel.

    At Mad Potter studios, customers select from over 400 pottery pieces available and design and paint them as they choose. There are no age minimums or limits to participate. Birthday parties, parent-child workshops and summer day camps are also available.
