Of the best sugar shacks near Montreal, what sets L'Hermine Maître Sucrier apart from its competitors is its reputation for five-star traditional cuisine. Not only do you get to eat the way Quebec's ancestors did, but you get to do it in a warm, rustic environment located roughly one hour's drive from Montreal by the American border run for decades by the same family, a business passed down from generation to generation.

In 2017, traditional sugar shack meals are served at L'Hermine Maître Sucrier from March 4 to April 29, 2017.

Sleigh rides, farm animals and maple syrup production tours are part of the experience. This particular cabane à sucre is also wheelchair accessible. Don't forget to check out L'Hermine's assortment of rare, housemade specialty products for sale like cinamon maple syrup, lavendar maple syrup as well as maple sugar covered nuts and cranberries.
