Of the best sugar shacks near Montreal, Érablière Denis Charbonneau (aka Verger Denis Charbonneau) is the only one that is both a sugar shack and apple orchard, offering not only a traditional all-you-can-eat sugar shack style menu complete with baked beans, tourtière and pork rinds but also apple products on location.
The 2017 season runs February 25 to April 30, 2017.
Pony rides, tractor rides, maple taffy on snow, and mountainside hikes with gorgeous views of the countryside across the street from operations are part of the day's on-site activities. Just make sure you're comfortable with crowds. This sugar shack gets packed, as was my experience. And make sure to wear proper footwear for the uphill hike, preferably waterproof and with traction.
