The last three months of the year are a busy time in St. Louis. From Oktoberfest through New Year's Eve, there are fun celebrations every month. Here are the top annual events in St. Louis in October, November and December.
The Best of Missouri Market - The Best of Missouri Market is held in early October at the Missouri Botanical Garden. This popular event features more than 100 vendors selling food, jewelry, art and crafts that are all made in Missouri.
GroveFest - GroveFest is an annual street festival in St. Louis' Grove neighborhood. There's live music, street performers, food and drink. Stores in the Grove are open with special deals for shoppers, and kids can enjoy fun activities just for them in the children's area.
Soulard Oktoberfest - St. Louis' Soulard neighborhood channels a bit of Munich during its three-day Oktoberfest celebration. German food, beer and music are all on tap for the thousands of visitors who take part in the festivities.
St. Louis International Film Festival - St. Louis' annual film festival is held over an eleven day period in early to mid-November. Dozens of movies are screened at local theaters with filmmakers often participating in discussions with the audience.
Thanksgiving Day Parade - Thanksgiving in the Gateway City begins with a parade along Market Street in downtown St. Louis. More than 100 floats, marching bands and giant balloons are part of this holiday celebration.
Way of Lights - The Way of Lights is one of the St. Louis area's most popular holiday light displays. The free display opens the Friday before Thanksgiving at Our Lady of the Snows Shrine in Belleville. Visitors can drive through the display and take in the sights to welcome the Christmas season.
Owl Prowls - Owl Prowls are held most weekends in December at the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis County. Visitors will learn all about owls and their unique calls. Then, everyone is invited to take a night hike through the grounds to see and call wild owls.
Winter Wonderland - Tilles Park in St. Louis County turns into a Winter Wonderland during the holiday season. Drive through and see more than a million colorful lights set up in various festive scenes. For a special treat, see the display by horse-drawn carriage.
Schlafly Anniversary Party - St. Louis' most well-known craft brewery hosts an anniversary party in late December. Both the Tap Room and Bottleworks serve up Schlafly's popular brews at 1991 prices. There's also live music and entertainment throughout the day.
