South Germantown Recreational Park - Germantown, MD

South Germantown Recreational Park is a 736-acre park with a wide range of facilities--from hiking trails to an indoor soccer complex. The Germantown park is the newest to be added in Montgomery County, Maryland. The parks includes hiking trails, picnic facilities, an indoor sports complex, 22 soccer fields with a lighted stadium, baseball and softball fields, a playground, archery range, golf driving range, two miniature golf courses, a splash playground, model boating lake, a tot lot, and an indoor aquatic center.

South Germantown Recreational Park is off I-270, Exit 15B (Route 118 South) Follow Rt. 118 approximately 3.5 miles to Germantown Park Drive and the park is on the right.

Recreational Facilities at South Germantown Recreational Park

Splash Playground – Kids can cool off playing in a massive waterfall, tumbling buckets, a rain tree, water tunnel, 36' water maze with 280 ground-level jets. Lockers, cubbies, showers, dressing rooms, restrooms and vending machines are nearby. (301) 601-3580.
Adventure Playground – This modern playground includes unique equipment including a medieval castle, pirate ship, world map, mazes, xylophones, and sea serpents.
Maryland SoccerPlex/Discovery Sports Center The Maryland SoccerPlex includes 24 outdoor soccer fields and the Discovery Stadium that seats 3,200 spectators. The Discovery Sports Center is a companion facility providing an indoor venue for a wide range of sports including basketball, volleyball, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and rugby. Germantown Indoor Swim Center – The indoor swimming pool is operated by Montgomery County Department of Recreation and offers lessons and recreational swimming sessions. (240) 777-6830.
Miniature Golf Courses - This 18-hole putting course with practice greens contain delicate contour changes, undulations and sloping greens. Teens and adults will find real challenges provided by water features, sand traps, rough turf and natural obstacles that are par of the unique design. (301) 601-3580.

King Farm Diary Mooseum Barn - Visitors can take a self-guided tour and learn about the agricultural history of the restored James and Macie King Dairy Barn. (301) 528-6530.
Washington Nationals Miracle Field - In 2011, the Washington Nationals dedicated a field at the South Germantown Recreational Park to serve as the new home for the Miracle League of Montgomery County, which will provide children with mental and/or physical challenges the opportunity to safely play baseball. The field incorporates a cushioned synthetic turf that allows children using wheelchairs and walkers to “run” the bases without fear of injury.
