Downtown Silver Spring comes alive with the sound of music at the annual free summer concert series every Thursday evening. The concerts feature a variety of musical styles – from swing, jazz and soul to Latin, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll. Concerts feature a raffle with prizes for children and adults. Attendees can bring a picnic or enjoy food from one of the many nearby restaurants. The programs are sponsored by Discovery Communications, Live Nation, Montgomery County, the Silver Spring Urban District, Montgomery County Recreation, and the Foundation to Celebrate Downtown Silver Spring.
