Experience

Shannon Wilson McAllister is a former writer for TripSavvy. In her four years with the site, she authored nearly 60 articles on her adopted hometown of Amsterdam.

She relocated from Boulder, Colorado, to Amsterdam as an expatriate, which afforded her an interesting perspective to share with readers. While being in tune with the needs of the Amsterdam visitor, she is also able to offer insider views on the best Amsterdam has to offer.

Shannon began her travel-writing career creating marketing and custom-itinerary material for an international sports tour company, a position that took her to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

Since then, she has contributed to online travel guides such as Trip.com and has expanded her freelance portfolio with business and technology writing, as well as copy editing. Her insatiable travel bug has also led her to most of western and central Europe, the U.K., the Caribbean, and Africa.

Education

Shannon graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies.
