Scott Laird has been a freelance travel writer since 2011 while also pursuing a career in the U.S. airline industry. He's logged over 1.4 Million miles onboard the world's airlines, which is nearly 1,500 individual flights—the equivalent of 55 times around the globe, or three roundtrips to the Moon.

Experience

After growing up in Anchorage, Alaska and the Garden Isle of Kaua'i, Scott worked in travel during and after college in roles in the airline and hotel industries. Scott also spent many years as a professional travel advisor, both independently and for some of the country's largest travel management companies. In addition to TripSavvy, he's also contributed to TravelPulse, TravelAge West, Condé Nast Traveler, Fodors Travel Guide, and other travel publications.

Education

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Alaska Pacific University and a Master of Science in Airline Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
