Tranquility Flotation, Massage, and Healing Center

The recently opened Tranquility features the state's only flotation tanks, along with an infrared sauna and a menu of bodywork and spa services covering massage, acupuncture, and polarity therapy among other modalities. Flotation, or REST (Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique) is done in a Float Spa, a small room with a 10-inch deep pool of highly Epsom salt saturated water heated to skin temperature, 93.5 degrees F. The salt keeps the body buoyant, while sound and light are controlled by the user, from musical and dim to silent and pitch black. The weightless feeling and limited sensory input are a path to relaxation and, when used with advanced techniques, personal growth. A one hour flotation session costs $60, while a float session and 90 minute massage runs $175. 711 1/2 Don Diego, 505-983- 5628, contactus@tranquilityflotation.com.
