Santa Clara University is the oldest college in California, founded on the site of one of the original Spanish mission churches, Mission Santa Clara de Asis. The university teaches undergraduate curricula in arts and sciences, business, and engineering, plus master's, Ph.D., and law degrees. Santa Clara University has the fourth-highest graduation rate among all U.S. master's universities,

Things to Do at Santa Clara University

  • Visit Mission Santa Clara de Asis: Santa Clara University is the only university in California to be built on the site of a Spanish mission church, built in 1777. Mission Santa Clara de Asis serves as the Santa Clara University chapel, but it is also open to the public seven days a week. Jesuit mass is held 10am on Sunday and 12:05pm Monday through Friday.
  • Visit the de Saisset Museum: Visit Santa Clara University's de Saisset Museum to see work from the university's permanent collection and rotating exhibitions on history and art. Admission is free.
  • Free public concerts in the Music at Noon series: Santa Clara Univeristy's hosts free public concert featuring some of world's finest musicians and high-profile Bay Area performers. The Music at Noon series is held in the Music Recital Hall at 12 noon, every Wednesday during the academic year. Admission is free.
