Montreal Christmas Shopping Destination: The Salon des métiers d'art
Salon des Métiers d'Art 2017: 11 Days, 400 Artisans
Every year leading up to Christmas in Montreal is the city's largest craft sale of the season, if not of the entire year. It's called the Salon des métiers d'art de Montréal. That's French for “Montreal crafts show.”
In 2017, the Salon des métiers d'art de Montréal runs from December 7 to December 17, 2017 at Place Bonaventure. As always, entrance is free admission.
At its 62nd edition in 2017, the Salon features over 400 exhibitors on site selling a variety of unique hand-crafted housewares, furniture, stocking stuffers, toys, leather work, jewelry, apparel, accessories as well as fine food and spices.
It's a fantastic place to find one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts while directly supporting the toils of Quebec-based artisans. In many cases, they're on location at the show, primed to discuss their work with potential customers. In my opinion, it's a quick, convenient, fuss-free way to get the bulk of your Christmas shopping done under one roof. And the gifts ideas are clever, original and high-quality.
