Best Rooftop For: Relaxing

The Hard Rock Café has three stories of restaurant and bar space inside, and a great rooftop bar on top called the Terrace. The view overlooks Pike Place Market and Elliott Bay, special since rooftop views of the water are all too infrequent at area restaurants and bars. Seats are situated around fire pits, but there’s plenty of standing room as well. Kick back with a drink near the fire or lean against the balcony edge and watch shoppers at the Market below. It’s a great spot to enjoy the best of Seattle on a nice afternoon or evening.

Best Rooftop For: Stunning Atmosphere

Frolik has what is likely the most stylish rooftop bar and restaurant in Seattle. If you seek cool, classy atmosphere, then head to Frolik’s outdoor patio, located on the fifth floor of the Motif Hotel. Views of skyscrapers surround you, several classy fire places add to the ambiance, as does an onsite DJ. The patio offers opportunities to play shuffleboard or ping pong, or just have a seat and relax.

Terra Plata is a restaurant with a focus on fresh produce—so fresh that some of it is grown right in the rooftop garden! Fortunately, the restaurant also offers seating on the rooftop, surrounded by the rooftop garden. Reservations are recommended since this is a popular spot.
