When you live in the Midwest, you may dream of flying to the West or East Coast to enjoy a romantic weekend getaway. But it's not necessary! Although many of the country's finest inns and escapes are located along those seaboards, a weekend simply isn't long enough to get there from the middle of the USA, settle in, and relax.

The good news is that you may not have to travel far from home in order to have a weekend that you've been fantasizing about.

Sometimes all a relationship needs is for a couple have quality time to be alone together. Then the location is not nearly as important as the privacy and comfort, service and cleanliness you need from the property you choose to visit for a bit of pampering.

These midwestern resorts are especially romantic and couples-friendly.
