Every summer the folks who run the Fremont Street Experience, the multimedia art and music spectacular in the heart of old downtown, bestow on Las Vegas a free rock concert series that is by far one of the best events of the summer.

From late May through the end of September, the 1st and 3rd Street stages of the Fremont Street Experience serve as the venue for the acclaimed artists who play in the ticket-free Downtown Rocks concert series, formerly known as Rock of Vegas.

“This year we’re kicking things up a notch with our new summer concert series, Downtown Rocks,” says Patrick Hughes, CEO and president of Fremont Street Experience.

Beyond Downtown Rocks, there's also live entertainment on three stages every night of the year. Check out the Fremont Street Experience calendar of events for more information.

Downtown Rocks plays out against a backdrop of a mesmerizing light show on the world's largest video screen, the world’s largest slot machine—the SlotZilla zip line—and iconic Las Vegas casinos like the Golden Nugget.

Parking for Downtown Rocks and other summer events is available at the Fremont Street Experience parking garage at 111 S. 4th Street, Las Vegas.

During the summer, events like Downtown Vegas and First Fridays art happenings are important elements of the hip Downtown scene, where there's always free music, amazing street vendors, hoppin' casinos, art galeries and great bars and restaurants.

If you plan to attend Downtown Rocks, be prepared for sweltering desert heat. By all means, dress down for the occasion and bring a fan.
