If you're heading to Yankee Stadium for a game or concert and want to eat outside of the stadium, there are many affordable, delicious restaurants nearby that are worth checking out.
These restaurants are all a short walk from Yankee Stadium, and whether you have a hankering for comfort diner food, Jamaican, New York Italian food, or if you just want to hang in a bar (upscale or not), you'll find something you like nearby. Many of these restaurants will also pack food to go.
Yankee Tavern

Yankee Tavern is just one block from Yankee Stadium, and folks love the pastrami sandwiches and the huge variety of other pub food at this bar. You can spot Yankee memorabilia decorating the tavern that includes an autographed picture of Joe DiMaggio and a bat signed by Yogi Berra. Babe Ruth was a frequent patron of the bar and dining room.
Stan's Sports Bar

Since 1979, Yankees fans have been patronizing Stan's before, during, and after home games. It's right across the street from Yankee Stadium, and you can't get much closer than that, in distance or spirit. Prices are a bit higher than other spots in the area, but Stan's does have some higher-end beers and beverages available, as well as a menu of appetizers and entrees.
The Eating Tree

The Eating Tree serves up delicious Jamaican food, including curry and jerk chicken. Don't expect an atmosphere, just tasty eats. It is located around the corner from Yankee Stadium, it has an inexpensive lunch special, and the food is available for eat-in or take-out. Jerk chicken with rice and peas, curried goat, and the oxtail stew are among the specialties.
Sam's Soul Food Bar & Lounge

Southern-style cooking at Sam's Soul Food Restaurant & Bar is just a short walk from Yankee Stadium. The menu features oxtail, ribs, and cornbread. Live music is frequently on the menu, too, and you can also get food-to-go if you like. Lunch specials are available Tuesday through Friday.
Giovanni's

The funky vibe of this restaurant almost seems a little out of place close to the stadium, but the home-style Italian pasta and coal-oven pizzas are tasty. Giovanni's has a weekend brunch buffet and kids' menus. You can have a sit-down meal in the casual dining room or get take-out.
Billy's Sports Bar

This spot has more of a nightclub vibe than your typical sports bar. Billy's has an outdoor space, and patrons can have a beer and a burger, as well as other bar food, before or after Yankees games or concerts.
