Bring the kids to an Easter egg hunt at one of these Reno / Sparks locations. There will be a variety of both church-sponsored and non-denominational Easter egg hunts and events from which to choose. Easter Sunday 2014 is on April 20.

Every year, Evelyn Mount Community Outreach prepares and gives away Easter baskets to those in need of a helping hand. Donations and volunteers are always needed to help with this and other efforts by this unselfish woman.

For more information, visit Evelyn Mount at 2530 Cannan Street in Reno. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

If you are going to be around Lake Tahoe, there are some cool Easter egg hunts at ski resorts.

Community Easter Egg Dash at Idlewild Park - The Easter Egg Dash is a free event for kids preschool through 6th grade. The Easter Bunny will be there, along with games, prizes, bounce houses, candy, and the dash to collect thousands of Easter eggs. The event is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Idlewild Park, 1500 Idlewild Drive in Reno. Food to benefit needy families in our community will be collected for The Bridge Food Pantry. Co-sponsored by​ ​​The Bridge Church and ​Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.

Easter Bunny Festival - From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sparks Crossing Shopping Center, 101 Los Altos Parkway in Sparks. The Easter Bunny will have free goodie bags and there will be games, prizes, baby chicks petting zoo, bounce house, face painting, cookies, and refreshments.

Everyone will love this annual celebration. Outdoors if it's nice, indoors if it's not. Sponsored in part by Costco Wholesale.

Outlook's Easter Eggstravaganza - Free Easter Egg hunt, food, prizes, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Northgate Park, 6450 Moonridge Terrace in northwest Reno. Sponsored by ​​Outlook Christian Church.

Easter Egg Dash and Pancake Breakfast - Bring the kids for lots of Easter eggs to dash after, and when the hunt is over, stick around and enjoy the pancake breakfast. The free event will be at Comstock Park, 1650 Carat Drive (at Double Diamond Parkway) in south Reno, starting at 9:30 a.m. Sponsored by ​Hope Community of Reno. Great Egg Race - This community Easter egg hunt is free and will be from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will be refreshments, egg races, face painting, inflatables, a petting zoo, and more. Sparks Nazarene Church Community Easter Egg Hunt - This free Easter egg hunt will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Oppio Park (by Sparks Middle School), 2355 18th Street in Sparks.

There will be lots of eggs to hunt, games, inflatables, refreshments, and prizes. There will be a drawing for a boy's and girl's bike with helmets. For more information, call the Sparks Nazarene Church at (775) 358-4066.

Easter Bunny Storytime and Egg Hunt at the Washoe County Library - Come to these branches of the Washoe County Library for Easter bunny stories, an egg hunt and a visit from the Easter bunny. Parents, bring your cameras.

Hop to Adopt at Nevada Humane Society - The community is invited to share in some Easter Egg-citement by joining us for an Easter Egg Hunt at Nevada Humane Society. For Peeps sake, hop on over, this is going to be an eggstra-special time for your children and our adoptable pets.

From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., enjoy a bounce house and refreshments while you visit homeless pets. Admission is free, although donations will be accepted. All proceeds directly benefit the homeless pets at Nevada Humane Society. All adopters will also receive Easter baskets filled to the brim with Egg-citing goodies for kids and pets. In addition to dogs and cats, there are several small animals available for adoption, including rabbits, hamsters, rats, and chinchillas. All dogs and cats are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before being adopted. Rabbits are also spayed or neutered. These services would normally cost over $250.
