Bars and Lounges on the Regal Princess

The Regal Princess cruise ship has many of the same bars and lounges as her sister ship the Royal Princess. Some of these are fast paced, with energizing music and dancing. Others are peaceful, with comfortable seating and room to have a quiet conversation with friends or family. All serve wine, beer, traditional mixed drinks, and tempting or unique cocktails.

Drinking and socializing play a big part of the cruise experience for many travelers, and Princess does an excellent job of providing a diverse mix of different types of bars and lounges.

Past Princess cruisers can enjoy familiar places like the Wheelhouse Bar and Crooners. As you might expect, many of the bars and lounges are clustered around the Piazza central area on decks 5, 6, and 7, which is the hub of the Regal Princess, including the Piazza Bar, Vines, Bellini's, and Crooners.

Let's take a look at a few of the many bars on the Regal Princess.

    Bellini's on the Regal Princess

Bellini's is named after the famous Venetian cocktail first sold at Harry's Bar in Venice. Many of us (myself included) love this drink made of Prosecco mixed with white peach puree.

Bellini's on the Regal Princess cruise ship is on deck 6 midship, overlooking the Piazza central hub area. Guests can sit along the railing and watch the action on deck 5 below while sipping a Bellini or other sparkling wine cocktail. (Of course, the bar sells other libations, too.)

Club 6 on the Regal Princess

Club 6 is the disco and late night club on the Regal Princess cruise ship. Located on deck 6 forward between the casino and Churchill's, Club 6 has a menu with some whimsical drinks, specialty cocktails, and premium drinks. For those too lazy to order a drink from a server or at the bar, a trolley comes around to sell you a shooter.

Club 6 usually doesn't open until about 10 pm and is only open to those over 18.

Located at the heart of the Piazza on deck 5, the Piazza Bar is one of the Regal Princess cruise ship's busiest places. However, the bar is lovely and has some comfortable seating next to the windows. So, guests can enjoy a drink while watching the activity in the Piazza central hub area and still appreciate the sensation of being at sea.

Vines Wine and Tapas Bar on the Regal Princess

    Vines on the Regal Princess
    Linda Garrison

Vines is both a wine bar and a place to have some tapas or mezes before dinner. This Regal Princess cruise ship bar has a nice collection of wines--both old- and new-world--but also has wine samplings and food pairings. Since it's located near Sabatini's Italian restaurant, Vines is a good place to meet friends and have a drink before your dinner reservation. Vines even features "small bites" from Sabatini's menu, so you can whet your appetite that way, too.

Outrigger Bar on the Regal Princess

The Regal Princess cruise ship Outrigger bar is in one of my favorite places--aft, outdoors, and near the Horizon Court buffet. The ship has other outdoor bars like the Sea View Bar next to the Sea Walk and the Retreat Bar in the Sanctuary, but the Outrigger is in a great location.

The sea views at the Outrigger are amazing, the drinks are cold, and the seating is comfortable. What more could a cruise vacationer ask for?
