The entrance to Red Rock Beach isn't well-marked, but you can find it by watching the mileage markers if you know how. It's on CA Hwy 1 between Stinson Beach and Muir Beach just north of mileage marker 11.0 and the entrance to the Steep Ravine Environmental Campground.
There are two free parking lots, one on each side of the road. They're the only large parking lots in the vicinity.
Walking from Parking Lot to the Beach
The lower part of the trail is sometimes slippery and footwear a little more sturdy than flip-flops is a good idea.
The 1/4-mile-long, steep gravel path starts at the north end of the main parking lot.
Remember that whatever you carry down, you'll have to haul back up. The path is fairly well-cleared, but watch out for poison oak.
